30.06.2026

On the eve of Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus, on June 30, the staff of the Belarusian House of Press joined the delegation of the Sovetsky district of Minsk to participate in a solemn flower-laying ceremony on Victory Square, organized as part of the city’s cultural and patriotic campaign “Calendar and Book of Memory.” This event brought together people for whom the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and their feat is an important part of life.

The deputy head of the administration, Alexandra Yurievna Morozova, addressed the participants of the action with a welcoming speech, noting the importance of preserving historical memory and respect for those who gave their lives for a peaceful future. The participants of the event, among whom were representatives of the administration of the Sovetsky district of Minsk, employees of enterprises, representatives of labor collectives, public organizations, students and pupils of educational institutions of the district laid flowers with awe at the Eternal Flame and the Victory Monument, symbolizing the eternal memory of the dead, and honored the memory of the liberating soldiers with a minute of silence.

The staff of the Belarusian Press House actively supports initiatives aimed at preserving historical memory. Participation in this campaign was not only an opportunity for employees to pay tribute, but also to emphasize the importance of passing on the memory of heroism and courage to future generations.

A symbolic “Memorial Calendar” is installed at the monument. Its pages are turned over daily, and each date reminds of specific steps, operations and battles that brought the liberation of Belarus closer. On June 30, 1944, during the Minsk operation of the troops of the 1st Belorussian Front, Lyubansky, Krasnoslobodskaya, Pleshchenitsky, Kopatkevichi, Slutsk districts and Slutsk were liberated.

Next to the “Memory Calendar” is the “Memory Book”. Any participant of the action can write in it the names of relatives who fought for their Homeland, or leave words of gratitude to the defenders of Belarus.

The Calendar and Book of Memory campaign has become a vivid reminder that it is important to remember the past and honor the memory of our heroes. The staff of the Belarusian Press House calls on all residents of the country to actively participate in such events in order to preserve history for future generations and continue the traditions of patriotism and respect for the exploits of their ancestors.
