THE MEMORIAL STAND “THE GENOCIDE OF THE BELARUSIAN PEOPLE DURING THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR” WAS OPENED IN THE PRESS HOUSE

The opening of exhibitions on the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War in educational institutions and enterprises in our country is a continuation of the initiative of the Prosecutor’s Office to hold events aimed at countering the rehabilitation of Nazism. The content of such stands and exhibitions is also devoted to the progress of the investigation of the criminal case of the genocide of the Belarusian people who lived in our country.

The opening of this stand at our enterprise once again underlines that the memory of soldiers who died on the fields of war, of women and children whose lives it claimed, will never disappear in Belarus. A new generation of young people has grown up today. For them, that war is somewhere in the past, when they were not in this world, which means that it is very difficult to feel its tragedy. Therefore, the labor collective of the enterprise today thanks the leadership of our country and the prosecutor’s office of the Sovetsky district of Minsk for such a necessary initiative to create such expositions at the enterprises of the district. We would like to express our special gratitude to the staff of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Belarus for their active search work in the case of the genocide of the Belarusian people.

The exposition consists of two parts: the genocide of the Belarusian people throughout our country, as well as the city of Minsk and the Minsk region. The exposition is based on archival photographs and historical documents exposing the crimes of Nazism, materials collected by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Belarus during the investigation of a criminal case initiated in April 2021 on the fact of the extermination of Belarusians.

Recently, attempts have been made more and more often to rewrite the history of the Great Patriotic War, justify the Nazi ideology, rehabilitate traitors, and ignore the colossal sacrifices of the Belarusian people. The installed stand should once again remind about the tragedy of the Belarusian people experienced during the war years.
