THE LABOR TEAM TOOK PART IN THE DISCUSSION OF THE DRAFT NEW MILITARY DOCTRINE

The event was held in video conference format. 9 studios got involved in the work – one from each district of Minsk.

During the meeting in a dialogue format, they talked about how the military-political situation is developing on the European continent; we remind you that Belarus does not consider any of the countries as an aggressor. But nevertheless, if necessary, the state is ready to take all measures to protect the territorial integrity of our country.

Since the adoption of the current edition of the Military Doctrine, our country has moved forward in the development of the national theory of military art. The “blank spots” regarding the use of military force in peacetime have been closed, and the system of operations of the Armed Forces has been clarified. A number of landmark decisions have been made in matters of military development, equipping the structural components of the state’s military organization, and the development of the military sector of the country’s economy. Despite the deep revision of the content, the document retained the peace-loving aspirations of the Belarusian people. An important message of the new Military Doctrine is that the Republic of Belarus does not treat any nation as its enemy, regardless of the actions of the governments of these states.

According to the developers, the document can serve as the basis for resolving the situation in Europe and launching a peaceful dialogue. The connection between the doctrine and the updated National Security Concept has also been strengthened. An important innovation is the adequacy of the measures taken by the state in accordance with the level of military danger. In the updated doctrine, they are aimed at preventing an escalation of the military-political situation and defusing the situation.

Most importantly, the draft Military Doctrine gives an unambiguous message – to prevent a situation where it will be too late to react. That is why the emphasis is on deterring the outbreak of military conflicts. And in this regard, the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of the Republic of Belarus is considered as an important component of preventive deterrence of potential adversaries from unleashing armed aggression against Belarus. This is a necessary measure.

The new Military Doctrine clearly states that the defense of the state and ensuring its military security are carried out by everyone, from the President of the Republic of Belarus to every citizen of the country. Thus, the provisions of the new document will give the defense of the state a truly national character.

Issues of economic support for military security and armed defense received a new meaning in the doctrine. It is important that the document retains the desire to promote the strengthening of international peace and security.

It is fundamentally important that people can participate, discuss such bills, and express their opinions. And a citywide dialogue platform was organized to discuss the draft of a new Military Doctrine, the main goal of which is to prevent war on the territory of our country. For us, Belarusians, there is nothing more important than peace and security in our land.
