A few days ago, Belarus celebrated one of the most important public holidays – Constitution Day, and therefore the topic of information day was especially relevant. Natalia Ananich, Deputy Head of the administration of the Sovetsky district of Minsk, acted as a speaker. In her speech, she noted that our citizens revere the Basic Law of the country as a symbol of our statehood and the level of constitutional legal awareness of people has grown disproportionately. It is becoming clear that the Constitution is the most important, fundamental document that defines the legal status of an individual in a particular state, which guarantees him a decent life in his native land and defines the corresponding duties of the state. She also noted that local authorities play a huge role in creating decent living conditions for citizens. The local government actually stands face to face with the person, with his daily needs and concerns. In general, it is designed to respond to them and help people solve their problems. And I see that the issues that are being discussed today – improving the living environment for our elderly and disabled people, healthcare, and physical education – are also aimed at implementing the provisions of the Basic Law.
During the information day, the participants talked about the history of the preparation and adoption of the Constitution, the referendums held and the modernization of the Basic Law and its fundamental role in the life of every citizen of the Republic of Belarus.
Acting as a connecting thread between the past and the future, the Constitution embodies the continuity of the history of the Belarusian people, absorbing the centuries-old experience of developing legal traditions and state building on our land. ”Belarus may be a young state, but Belarusians are an absolutely mature nation. It is impossible to challenge this status. As well as the fact that our Constitution embodies the achievements of many eras“, the President of the Republic of Belarus emphasized on March 15, 2024 at a meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of Belarus.
The effectiveness of the Constitution, which is in force with amendments and additions adopted in national referendums, is proved by modern prosperous life in a sovereign country.
