THE FIRST MEETING OF FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS OF THE MINSK STATE COLLEGE OF POLYGRAPHY NAMED AFTER V.Z.KHORUZHEY WITH THE DEPUTY MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND REPRESENTATIVES OF THE INDUSTRY

Last week in important meeting of first-year students with the Deputy Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus and representatives of leading enterprises of the publishing and printing industry took place at the Minsk State College of Polygraphy named after V.Z.Khoruzhey. The event was held as part of the implementation of state policy in the field of mass media, publishing, printing, as well as the distribution of printed publications and mass media products.

Minsk State College of Polygraphy named after V. Z. Khoruzhey is one of the oldest secondary specialized educational institutions in the capital, last year it celebrated its 80th anniversary. About 570 full–time students and about 100 part-time students study here. This is the only place in Belarus where mid-level specialists are trained for printing companies.

The purpose of the meeting is to introduce young professionals to the current directions of industry development, government priorities and tasks, as well as to strengthen the link between education and production.

At a round table with the participation of the Deputy Ministry of Information, the director of the college, representatives of leading enterprises of the printing and bookselling industry, issues related to the organization of educational institutions and training enterprises, the involvement of future specialists and workers in their enterprises, the conclusion of contracts for targeted training, regarding the employment of graduates under the age of 18 in accordance with Resolution of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus dated 02/07/2025 No. 12 “On the list of jobs, where it is prohibited to employ persons under the age of eighteen”), as well as the prospects of opening training workshops on the basis of enterprises.

An integral part of the meeting was an open dialogue with first-year college students, where representatives of the leading enterprises of the publishing and printing industry addressed the first-year students: of course, our Belarusian Printing House, JSC Polygrafkombinat named after Ya. During the conversation, Deputy Minister of Information D.V.Yezersky spoke in detail about the current challenges and prospects for the development of mass media and printing in Belarus, paying special attention to digitalization and innovations in the field of print media.

“Today’s meeting is an important step in shaping the professional consciousness of young people,” said the Deputy Minister. “We strive for students to understand the importance of their profession in ensuring information security and developing print culture in the country.”

Industry representatives shared their experiences, talked about the requirements for specialists and career opportunities, emphasizing the importance of practical training and participation in real production processes.

The students actively asked questions, showing keen interest in the future profession and industry trends.
