THE BELARUSIAN CAPITAL IS 956 YEARS OLD

Traditionally, City Day began with a symbolic event – a ceremony of laying flowers at the obelisk “Minsk – Hero City”. Together with representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, ministries and departments of the country, the deputy corps, public and ideological assets of the capital, labor collectives of enterprises, including the Belarusian Press House, they honored the memory of the participants in the Great Patriotic War who fell in defense of the hero city of Minsk.

Special words of gratitude to those people who, at the cost of their own lives, defended the honor and independence of our country and the city of Minsk during the Great Patriotic War, as well as to those people who rebuilt everything anew in the difficult post-war times.

Today Minsk is a modern, prosperous city with developed industry and infrastructure, a centuries-old history, rich traditions, as well as wide avenues, beautiful streets and, most importantly, wonderful people. It’s comfortable to live and develop here, realize yourself and make your dreams come true. Our guests appreciate the city. And we are always glad when they come to us.
