The decree (No. 213) on awarding state awards to representatives of various fields of activity was signed on May 23 by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
62 people were awarded state awards.
The Order of the Fatherland, III degree, was awarded to the Deputy Chairman of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly Alexander Kosinets and the Administrative Officer of the President of the Republic of Belarus Yuri Nazarov.
Orders, medals and honorary titles were awarded for many years of fruitful work, high professionalism, exemplary performance of official duties, courage and dedication shown during the liquidation of emergency situations, merits in military service and protection of the state border, forensic activities, significant personal contribution to the effective implementation of strategic projects, strengthening constitutional legality, protection of flora and fauna, development of state information policy, fiscal system, civil aviation, mechanical engineering, industry, processing industry, housing and communal services and agriculture, excellent achievements in the areas of social protection of the population, education, health, science, culture and sports.
The Order of the Fatherland is the highest order of the Republic of Belarus and has three degrees:
Order of the Fatherland, 1st degree;
Order of the Fatherland, II degree;
Order of the Fatherland, III degree.
The highest degree of the Order of the Fatherland is I degree.
The award is made sequentially with the Order of the Fatherland III, II and I degrees:
for excellent achievements in production, research, socio-cultural, public, charitable and other areas of activity aimed at improving the well-being of people and strengthening the power of the country;
for the courage and courage shown in defending the Fatherland and its state interests, ensuring law and order;
for great services in the development of economic, scientific, technical and cultural ties between the Republic of Belarus and other countries.
The Order of the Fatherland is worn on the left side of the chest and, in the presence of other orders (except for the Order of the Mother), is placed in front of them in order of seniority of degrees.
Up to this point in the entire history of the Republic of Belarus, 269 people have been awarded the Order of the Fatherland, III degree. The first awarding of the Order of the Fatherland, III degree, took place in 1996.
