SINGLE INFORMATION DAY

As part of the Unified Information Day, a meeting was held between the workforce of the Belarusian Press House and the head of the Sovetsky district police department in Minsk, Sergei Leonidovich Kalinnik.

The company’s workforce was briefed on current topics in the prevention of cyber and drug security. Namely, how to protect yourself from fraudsters who steal funds from bank accounts, from cyber threats and criminal attacks in the field of high technology.

In the Republic of Belarus in recent years, the number of crimes related to telephone scams has increased significantly. To achieve selfish goals, attackers use sophisticated methods and play on the compassion of victims. They call citizens and inform them that one of their relatives is in trouble, and in order to avoid negative consequences, they urgently need to transfer money to the courier or transfer it to their account. Despite informing the population about such traps, citizens continue to be careless. Most often the victims are elderly people. Excessive gullibility and difficulty overcoming stressful situations allow attackers to achieve criminal goals.

S.L. Kalinnik spoke about the measures taken by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus to prevent and prevent illegal actions, about the investigation and detention of those involved in these actions.

Instructed you on what to do if your daughter/son/spouse calls you and asks you to transfer money:

hang up immediately

call them back immediately

do not transfer any amounts to couriers,

report the call to the police (by phone 102 or chatbot).

Sergei Leonidovich conducted information and explanatory work for representatives of the workforce on the problem of injuries to pedestrians and cyclists, people using personal mobility devices, the causes and conditions of accidents involving them, and innovations in traffic rules. Considering that children are now on summer vacation, I reminded them of safety measures and the prevention of accidents involving minors.

He also answered questions from members of the work collective.

At the end of the meeting, Sergei Leonidovich reminded those present and delegated to inform family, friends and colleagues that in order to prevent conflict situations and accidents, it is necessary to comply with traffic rules and respect other road users.

Take care of yourself and your loved ones!
