The Press House staff took part in celebrations in honor of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders.
The festive events began on July 2 at the Palace of the Republic with a solemn meeting, at which the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko spoke.
And already on July 3, a festive parade was held at the Minsk – Hero City stele, in which more than 5 thousand servicemen were involved. Including parade crews from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
More than 300 units of wheeled and tracked vehicles passed as part of a mechanized column. Aerobatics figures demonstrated 47 modern combat vehicles of the military aviation of Belarus and Russia over the capital.
The highlight of the day was a gala concert at the stele. Both Belarusian pop stars and other countries congratulated the audience on Republic Day from the stage. The audience was pleased with the Russian musical group “Turkish Choir” and Denis Maidanov, the Kazakh rock band Motor-Roller.
On the eve of the fireworks, all the participants of the concert together with the audience sang the anthem.
Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus is the main holiday of the Belarusian statehood. This is a historically significant date in the fate of the country, which has become a symbol of freedom and peace. On this day, the city of Minsk was liberated from the German occupation. The decision to celebrate Independence Day on July 3 was made during a republican referendum in 1996.
