INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR “INDUSTRIAL TOURISM AS A BRAND AND STRATEGY”

The seminar was held in Minsk on March 12 at the Minsk Tractor Plant. It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Industry, representatives of the tourism industry of Belarus and the Russian Federation, representatives of the largest industrial enterprises in the country, including representatives of the Press House. An exhibition of enterprises involved in industrial tourism was organized at the Palace of Culture of the Minsk Tractor Plant. For the seminar participants, excursions were provided to the Museum and Industrial Center of Labor Glory of the Minsk Works and to production. The program also includes a round table on the development of industrial tourism in the Union State.

Today, industrial tourism is a brand, the image of an enterprise, as well as career guidance. Children are introduced to future professions and are shown what modern operating enterprises and industries are like today. Industrial tourism in the country is developing intensively. Today, more than 130 enterprises and organizations are developing this direction. They have a certain base, experience and motivation to develop industrial tourism. Last year, industrial tourism sites were visited by more than 200 thousand people, which is a third more than the year before.

It was possible to preserve the potential of industrial tourism since Soviet times. All brands and leading enterprises are still operating today, and there is something to be proud of. However, the world does not stand still, competition is growing, and this requires new steps. People’s attitude towards excursions to production facilities has changed. If previously they were of a career guidance nature, now almost all objects offer to take part in master classes, visit museums and tasting rooms, and have a hand in the creation of popular products.

In our country, great importance is attached to the development of this type of tourism at the state level. A working group on industrial tourism has been created, which is part of the Interdepartmental Expert and Coordination Council for Tourism under the Council of Ministers. In addition, a roadmap for the development of industrial tourism is being implemented. On January 1, 2023, a new tourism law came into force. In particular, it gives the right to employees of industrial enterprises to engage in excursion activities without certification.

By developing industrial tourism, there is a demonstration that lucky people work in factories. So that children can be confident in this and boldly come to work at industrial enterprises. Industrial tourism helps to plunge into the world of industrial relations. If you approach its development professionally, you can interest everyone. Industrial tourism can provide an additional impetus for the development of the production base of our republic.
