The International Day of Liberation of Prisoners of Nazi Concentration Camps is celebrated all over the world on April 11. Rallies dedicated to this day are taking place all over the country. The labor collective of the Belarusian Press House did not stand aside and joined the requiem rally. Representatives of the company laid flowers at the foot of the monument “Gates of Memory” in the memorial complex “Trostenets” and honored the memory of prisoners of Nazi concentration camps.
The Trostenets Memorial Complex was opened in 2015 on the site of the concentration camp of the same name, which operated during the Great Patriotic War. Trostenets is the largest place of mass extermination of people in Belarus during the Nazi occupation, and one of the largest concentration camps in Europe. It unites several places of mass destruction of people: Blagovshchina tract – the place of mass shootings; camp – near the village of Maly Trostenets, 10 km from Minsk along the Mogilev highway; Shashkovka tract – the place of mass burning of people. The memorial complex is located on Selitsky Street in Minsk.
