HOW WAS THE PRESS HOUSE MAY DAY?

May 1 is traditionally celebrated in Belarus as Labor Day. This holiday has deep roots and symbolizes the unity of workers, their desire for justice and improvement of working conditions. In recent years, the celebration of May 1 in Belarus has acquired special significance, reflecting both historical traditions and modern realities.

May Day celebrations were held in all regions of the country. The largest one is traditionally in Victory Park in Minsk.

Industry trade unions have prepared a rich program: a big concert of popular performers, interactive platforms, workshops, photo zones, professional shows, street games, quizzes and much more.

May Day in the capital started at the stele “Minsk – the hero city”. The leadership of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, ministries and departments, government authorities, representatives of enterprises and organizations laid flowers at her foot. Then the celebration moved to Victory Park. It’s especially crowded here on May Day. It is no coincidence that this holiday is called a national holiday: it is about the achievements of the collectives of domestic enterprises, the best traditions of creation – about people who glorify the country with their work. The highlight of the holiday was the awarding ceremony at the main festive venue of the laureates of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus in the field of not only labor.

Despite the unstable situation in the world, the labor collectives of the country’s enterprises have preserved the spirit of solidarity and unity. The celebration on May 1 was an opportunity for employees to express their hopes for a better future and strengthen ties within the team.

Thus, in 2025, May 1 in Belarus became not only a day of celebration of labor, but also an important moment for discussing current problems of workers. The labor collective of the Belarusian Press House has demonstrated its solidarity and willingness to work together to improve living and working conditions.
