A city infostream on the theme “Five-year Plan of Quality – the results of the Year of Improvement” was held at the Minsk City Hall. More than a thousand viewers joined the online broadcast, including the staff of the Printing House.
The key achievement of 2025 was the completion of the transfer of the capital to water supply from underground sources. In a year and a half, 114 km of water pipes were laid, which made it possible to provide artesian water to about 700 thousand citizens who previously used water from open sources.
Another significant project was the reconstruction of a waste sorting facility with a capacity of 600 thousand tons. t per year. Thanks to its commissioning, all the garbage collected in Minsk is now sent for recycling, which reduces the load on landfills.
In the Year of Landscaping, increased attention was paid to residential areas. Major repairs were carried out on an area of more than 1 million square meters. the housing fund. In addition to repairing roads and facades, children’s play equipment, small architectural forms have been updated, and landscaping has been completed. Significant work has been carried out in recreation areas, in particular at the Zaslavsky reservoir, where more than 500 pieces of equipment and 150 sun beds were installed by the beginning of the season.
At least 3% of the used residential area is repaired in Minsk every year. In the field of road infrastructure, the city is moving away from the practice of pit repairs, performing a complete replacement of the pavement in the adjacent territories – this year the plan has been fulfilled by 111%. In 2025, about 50 thousand trees, more than 260 thousand shrubs and over 11 million flowers were planted. Over a thousand modular structures for waste collection have been installed. Major transport interchanges are still being repaired. It is planned to complete the reconstruction of all bridges by 2028. A new one will also be built, which will connect the Central and Frunzensky districts.
On the eve of Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and Minsk City Day, administrations of all districts of the capital traditionally put two recreation areas in order. Since 2021, 83 such facilities have been improved. In addition, 14 civic initiatives were implemented in 2025.
Recall that civic initiatives are projects co-financed by citizens and the state. Given the high interest of Minsk residents, next year it is planned to increase both the amount of funding and the number of initiatives being implemented.
To involve the population in the improvement of housing and yards in the city, an annual competition is held for the title of “Best yard”, “Best entrance”, etc. He is also awarded the honorary title of “Minsk Citizen of the Year”. A competition for the best floral design has been organized among enterprises and organizations.
Clean-up days and landscaping work should become a familiar part of citizens’ lives, so that even when the Year of Landscaping ends, the desire to live in cleanliness and order remains.
