A SINGLE DAY OF INFORMATION

Topic: “WE ARE TOGETHER FOREVER: ON THE 85TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE REUNIFICATION OF WESTERN BELARUS AND THE BSSR”

Today we will talk about the fateful date for everyone who loves and believes in Belarus – September 17, 1939.

In the history of mankind, there are few States that have been separated, but still reunited. They became one again. And our country is one of the few, one might even say, unique examples.

85 years ago, the reunification of our country and the Belarusian people took place. Since then, we have been united geographically and spiritually. And no one has the right to say that someone other than ourselves decides the fate of our free Homeland.

The territorial integrity of the independent Republic of Belarus and the national unity of our people are based on fateful historical decisions made 85 years ago. The construction of a truly socially oriented state is possible only in a consolidated society.

In the 21st century, neither the pandemic, nor the attempt to stage a “color” rebellion, nor the predatory sanctions of the “collective” West broke us. They didn’t break me because we were together.

The conditions for preserving the unity of society and the state are: patriotism; respect and reverence for the state symbols of the Republic of Belarus; consolidation of efforts and resources of the state, civil society institutions and citizens to realize and protect national interests; readiness of a citizen to honorably fulfill military duty, defend independence, territorial integrity and constitutional order of the Republic of Belarus; equality of all before the Law; respect constitutional rights and freedoms of man and citizen; social responsibility; personal responsibility; constructive dialogue between citizens and the authorities; commitment to the traditional values of the Belarusian society; rejection of any forms of national and religious discrimination.

The Truth is on our side.

And we are united in our desire to live on our land with our mind and work.

That is why National Unity Day is a symbol of solidarity, patriotism and the strength of the nation for us.

“Time itself, the time of the global redistribution of the world, has returned the date of September 17th to our calendar of public holidays. The more we see how modern states are collapsing, how peoples are losing their homeland, home, traditions, the more closely we look at the history of our native land… In fact, there are no new challenges. There are forgotten old lessons and threats. And there is protection – a centuries–old experience that has taught us to be together in both happy and difficult times,” President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stressed on September 17, 2023 at the patriotic forum “We are Belarusians!”.
