A public notification system has been created and is being improved in Belarus: at the national, territorial, local and facility levels. Its main task is to provide timely information about all types of hazards. To do this, the civil defense system has adopted a warning signal warning “Attention everyone!”. The signal is realized by launching electric sirens and warns the population about the danger.
After hearing the prolonged “howl” of sirens, turn on the radio or TV, connect to the Internet to visit information portals (for example, the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations) and listen or read information about the current situation and the order of further actions. Next, it is necessary to follow all the recommendations made on the air or published on the Internet portal of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. It would not be superfluous to pass on the information to the neighbors, as they might not have heard it. If necessary, provide assistance to the sick, children and the elderly. The main thing is not to panic.
If the warning signal catches you on the street, you need to find the nearest TV (radio) point to receive more detailed instructions, including paying attention to interactive advertising screens that can be placed in places with a large number of people, as well as if it is possible to connect to the Internet.
On the eve of the World Civil Defense Day, the staff of the Press House held an important and necessary event – a comprehensive evacuation exercise. These activities are aimed at improving the safety and preparedness of employees for possible emergencies.
World Civil Defense Day is a reminder of the need to be prepared for various emergency scenarios, including fires, natural disasters or man–made accidents. Conducting exercises allows you to:
– test the effectiveness of the warning system and evacuation routes;
– train employees to take the right actions in case of a threat;
– identify possible weaknesses in the security organization;
– Inspire team spirit and action planning under stress.
The teaching at the House of Printing included the following stages:
1. Launching a local system with the development of actions on the civil defense warning signal “Attention to all!”.
2. Training on the evacuation of employees of the enterprise to the civil defense protective structure on the civil defense warning signal “Attention to all!”, as well as signaling the occurrence of a conditional fire, the actions of the staff on duty and members of the fire brigade when the “Fire” signal on the fire automation devices, evacuation.
3. Conducting instructional and methodological classes on civil defense, including first aid to victims, with members of civilian formations.
4. Conducting thematic classes with employees.
5. Summarizing the results of the exercises, analyzing and developing recommendations to improve the efficiency of evacuation processes.
The training showed that the company’s employees respond promptly and correctly to the civil defense warning signals “Attention to all!”, know the evacuation routes, leave the premises clearly and smoothly and evacuate to a safe zone.
The members of the civil formations have the appropriate skills and knowledge to carry out the assigned tasks of emergency response and civil defense.
Conducting such exercises is an important means of improving security. They help employees feel more confident and know how to act in a real situation. It is important to remember: readiness is the key to salvation!
