On April 12, 2023, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 105, which amends Decree No. 157 of March 26, 1998 “On public holidays, public holidays and memorable dates in the Republic of Belarus.” The name of the state holiday was changed from “Day of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus and the State Flag of the Republic of Belarus – the second Sunday of May” to “Day of the State Flag, the State Emblem and the National Anthem of the Republic of Belarus – the second Sunday of May.”
The new name will pay tribute to all three state symbols of Belarus.
Dear Colleagues!
Please accept sincere congratulations on the Day of the State Flag, State Emblem and National Anthem of the Republic of Belarus!
The state symbols of modern Belarus are based on the heroic past of our people and reflect the peaceful creative goals of the Belarusian state, the glorious history of the nation, its centuries-old traditions, as well as the ideals and principles of our sovereign country – peace, work, good neighborliness, loyalty to our spiritual values and traditions. The State Flag, the State Emblem and the State Anthem unite people of different political views, nationalities and religions, instilling in the younger generation patriotism, a sense of civic duty and responsibility for the future of their country.
They conceal the uniqueness and originality of our Belarus; they personify our unity, the wealth of traditions and the wisdom of generations.
On this holiday we would like to wish everyone peace, goodness, prosperity and success in their work for the benefit of Belarus! Let the main symbols of independent Belarus strengthen our pride in our native country and contribute to its further prosperity!
