The workforce of the House of Press joined the discussion of the citywide awareness day on the topic “Social security: basic principles and priorities” via video link.
After the 2022 referendum, we continue to improve legislation and provide legal education to citizens. Unified information days help with this. Today, topics were raised that relate to material stimulation of the birth rate of children, securing young specialists in the field, and improving the skills of those who are determined to realize themselves in the profession. This is the range of issues that both legislators and the state are working on. The draft budget for next year will be considered in the near future, so these issues are now very relevant.
A lot has been done, but we should not relax. Under external pressure, the national system of public administration demonstrated adaptability and vitality, and the Belarusian people demonstrated trust in the authorities and commitment to the chosen path of development. By the end of 2023, parliamentarians will have to complete the revision of legislation in accordance with the provisions of the updated Basic Law of the country, creating the basis for solving the triune task: protecting the achievements of society, preserving the vector of development of the state, increasing spiritual and material potential in the interests of improving people’s lives. Thus, entire blocks of bills were adopted regarding support for families with children and youth. Amendments have also been made to the Civil Code of the Republic of Belarus. The rule regarding liability without fault for vehicle drivers if the injured pedestrian himself grossly violated traffic rules has been excluded. Each such case will be considered individually.
Despite the unprecedented challenges of the time, the Belarusian state provides every citizen with social guarantees and opportunities for self-realization.
Addressing the Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly on January 28, 2022, the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko outlined the principles of the state’s social policy:
“The first principle is justice… Its implementation made it possible to ensure a balanced distribution of social benefits, equal access, as far as possible, for every Belarusian to these benefits.
The second principle is responsibility. The state consistently fulfills its obligations to society, guaranteeing comprehensive and large-scale support throughout a person’s life.
The third principle is care. It is expressed in a broad and ramified system of social assistance to vulnerable categories of the population and people in difficult life situations.”
In turn, every citizen in his place has a real opportunity to contribute to the future of the country, society, and family. After all, it is we, the Belarusian people, who live on our land, consistently create history, formulate principles and develop laws by which our children and grandchildren will live.
