On February 2, Head of State Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree that created the Republican Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the first meeting of the Seventh All-Belarusian People’s Assembly.
The organizing committee included a number of senior officials, leadership of ministries, chairmen of regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, as well as representatives of other government bodies. It was headed by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko.
The organizing committee, in addition to organizational issues, is also entrusted with the task of widely covering the work being carried out and informing the population about the delegates of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly in the media.
