Minsk has accepted the status of the youth capital of Belarus. The grand opening ceremony of the republican project “Minsk – the Youth Capital of the Republic of Belarus 2026” took place at the Youth House on March 26. The event brought together 45 participants from each region and 300 representatives of Minsk youth – more than 600 people in total.
Minsk has become the 11th youth capital of Belarus. Gomel passed the baton to the city, which had this honorary status in 2025.
A commemorative capsule with a message to future generations was laid in the park on the boulevard. Tolbukhina after the opening ceremony of the youth capital of Belarus.
The message contains words from young people: Octobrists, pioneers, students, cadets, and working youth. Everyone has put their own value into it.
It is planned to open in 2067, the year of the city’s millennium.
Anton Paveliev, a representative of the Rakurs youth analytical group and head of the Ideological Work Sector of the Belarusian House of Press State Enterprise, participated in the historic event from the Minsk city organization of the NGO Belaya Rus:
– The continuity of generations is the foundation of our society. Each of us has gone from being an October boy and a pioneer to being active in the ranks of the BRSM, from public initiatives to participating responsibly in the activities of Belaya Rus. These stages shape a person and remind us of the main thing: by staying true to our origins, we pass on fundamental values to future generations – patriotism, respect for elders and responsibility for the fate of the country. We appeal for the preservation of independence, traditions and stability. Take care of our Belarus, its independence, traditions and people. Develop bold ideas, but remember the roots.
The event marked the beginning of the reconstruction of the park on the boulevard. Tolbukhina. The facility will become the Minsk city youth construction site.
