A passport of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus is a document certifying the identity of a citizen on the territory of the Republic of Belarus and beyond, confirming the citizenship and the right of its owner to leave the Republic of Belarus and enter the Republic of Belarus.
Every citizen of the Republic of Belarus who has reached the age of 14 must have an identity document.
The Printing House has been printing passports since 1993. The first batch of 20,000 copies. It was delivered to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus on June 22, 1994. Along with the equipment, the face of the document changed – instead of the “Chase”, the national emblem of the Republic of Belarus appeared on the cover. The production capacity is sufficient to ensure uninterrupted supply of passports to the population. But this does not mean that the company makes them every day – usually no more than two weeks a month. In recent years, it has become more common to issue a residence permit for a foreign citizen.
The process of making a document is entertaining, of course, the company will not tell you about all the secrets of manufacturing, but it will familiarize you with the process a little bit. First, the pages of the future passport are printed on a special machine. It is controlled by a printer. With the help of a large remote control and a screen, he regulates the supply of paint, sets the color scheme. For example, the pages of the document use an iris rollout. To get it, you should mix several paints in the right proportions. At one time, the equipment was made to order specifically for the Printing House. The equipment is reliable, it has never failed over the years.
Do you want to see a little magic? Bring your passport to the installation with ultraviolet rays, and – oops! – he will blossom: A bluish-green glow with the outlines of a fern will appear on the pages. Even the smallest fibers of paper will light up.
It is also interesting that the workers themselves, who are engaged in the production process, do not particularly delve into all the secrets, they just do their job.
Next, a cutting machine is involved in the work, which levels the stacks of sheets. This process can be watched endlessly: a powerful knife smoothly descends onto the workpieces. Bang! – instantly cuts off everything superfluous.
There are three lines of machines in the assembly shop, where women work. The machine collects the passport page by page, then stitches it with a special thread. Sometimes, though rarely, it is necessary to manually correct technical errors, so there is always a spool of thread with a needle. Another touch in the blue book is a golden sticker made of the thinnest foil on the cover in the form of the coat of arms of the Republic of Belarus. And it’s not paint at all.
The collected passports are moving along the line in succession. They are checked by employees. More than a thousand documents pass through their hands during a shift.
The final stage is page perforation.
