Newspapers and booklets, books and brochures, diaries and calendars, magazines that we all love to read on the road – it’s all the work of skilled printing hands. Today is our professional holiday – Print Day! At all times, the printed word has been and remains the main intermediary between government and citizens, an expression of public and personal opinions, and a source of useful and relevant information. You are the ones who keep your finger on the pulse of the era. Your work allows us all to navigate modern conditions.
In even more difficult conditions, the partisan printing houses had to work in the occupied territory during the Great Patriotic War. They had to decide where to get fonts, equipment, and paper; what to do if ink and paper were missing; how to print without a printing press; where to hide a bulky box with a typeface register if the printing house moved from one place to another, hiding from Gestapo persecution – this is just a small part of the daily work of the underground.
Campaigning in the war is actually another war that is being waged in parallel and according to its own laws. All participants in the armed conflict were engaged in propaganda, including printed propaganda.
This is especially important in the year when our Belarus celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. And this is not just a date in our history, but a reminder of the heroic deeds of millions of people who gave their lives for a peaceful sky, of the courage and perseverance of those who fought at the front and in the rear.
Every year there are fewer and fewer witnesses to that terrible war, but it is our duty to preserve their memory. After all, Victory is a part of us, our present and our future. For more than a century, we have been creating new books and new stories at the company.
May there always be a peaceful sunny sky over our Belarus, your home will be filled with joy, love and warmth, the support of your loved ones and colleagues helps you solve any tasks, always go forward and achieve your goals! And of course, professional growth, circulation without defects, high demand for printed products, as well as easily mastering new technologies and continuing to delight everyone with your work! Happy holidays to you! Happy Press Day!
