A SINGLE DAY OF SAFETY

On September 21, a Single Security Day is held annually in our country.

The main objectives of the event are to train employees in organizations to act correctly in conditions of fires and emergency situations, as well as first aid (i.e. self–help, mutual assistance), including before the arrival of special services (rescuers, medical workers, police).

On the eve of the Unified Safety Day, the company held exercises and trainings on responding to natural and man-made emergencies, practicing safe evacuation from the building, checking the warning system.

The task of the “Unified Security Day” and the exercises at the Press House is to conduct educational work with the workforce, in particular, we are talking about working out evacuation plans and other actions necessary in the event of an emergency.

The relevance of the event is confirmed by the tragic incidents that occur in the world.

So (according to Internet sources), on December 5, 2009, a fire broke out in the Lame Horse nightclub (Perm, Russia), which killed 156 people. On January 27, 2013, 239 people died in a fire at the Kiss nightclub (Santa Maria, Brazil), and on March 25, 2018, more than 60 people died in the Winter Cherry shopping center (Kemerovo, Russia), 37 of them children, and about 80 more were injured. The terrorist attack on March 22, 2024 in Crocus City Hall (Krasnogorsk, Moscow region) was aggravated by a fire, led to the death of 145 people (6 of them children) and the injury of more than 550 people.

The reasons and conditions that led to such a number of victims were the mistakes of visitors during the evacuation, panic, mistakes of managers in planning and staff in organizing the evacuation.

In our republic, fires with tragic consequences are not allowed, nevertheless, the issue of proper evacuation of people from buildings in case of fire (both at work and in public places where each of us happens) is relevant.

Fires occur annually at the facilities of the republic’s organizations. So, in 8 months of 2024, 322 fires occurred at the facilities of organizations, from which 6 people died and 16 were injured.

Each of us can get into a situation in which his life and health, as well as those who are nearby, will depend on the correctness of his actions and behavior. Therefore, such an event must be treated responsibly.
