1. “Maroon Beret”, 2008
In the film directed by Andrei Golubev “The Maroon Beret,” the role of Andrei Senkin is designated as “Barnes in his youth.” The young actor’s not-so-noticeable work, however, marked his future “synthetic” role.
2. “Cadet”, 2009
The first leading role that brought serious success was Denis Meshko in the film directed by Vitaly Dudin. For this work, the young actor was awarded a diploma “For a brilliant film debut” at the XVIII international film forum “Golden Knight”.
3. “Brest Fortress”, 2010
After a successful debut in the leading role, Senkin began to be more actively invited to act in films. His filmography included such notable historical projects as “Brest Fortress” (directed by Alexander Kott), where he very expressively played a faint-hearted German soldier.
4. “Talash”, 2011
In the film adaptation of Yakub Kolas’ story “Drygva” (directed by Sergei Shulga), representatives of different generations gathered on the set, including “living classics” Gennady Garbuk, Augustin Milovanov, Gennady Ovsyannikov… Andrey played the small role of Maxim.
5. “At the Crossroads”, 2011
Thanks to Andrei’s “romantic” appearance and natural youthfulness, directors for a long time saw in him young heroes just entering life, often unrequited lovers. Gena from the melodrama directed by Vitaly Dudin, who already worked with him in his film “Cadet”, is exactly like this. But he has something to contrast with the brutal hero performed by Ruslan Chernetsky, who, according to the plot, is in love with the same girl as Gena: dreamy eyes, a wonderful smile, a bouquet of wildflowers in his hands and, without a doubt, an absolutely masculine character!..
The girl with whom the driver (R. Chernetsky) and machine operator Gena (A. Senkin) were in love was played by Veronika Plyashkevich. The kind and smart film fell in love with the audience, first of all, thanks to the charm of the characters played by these young actors of the M. Gorky National Theater Theater.
6. “Oh, ma-mo-ki!..”, 2013
The third episode of this television melodrama directed by Ivan Pavlov was called “Sopromat”. Her heroes were student mother Lena and her young husband Vasya Petrovsky. The short story, presented in a humorous vein, showed for the first time the actor’s undoubted comedic gift.
This was the artist’s first collaboration with director Ivan Pavlov, about which later, after the second joint project “Flame Under the Ashes,” the actor spoke in the press: “It is a great success for me to work with Ivan Pavlov. And then (on “Mommies…” – editor’s note) and now I experienced tremendous pleasure from joint creativity. I feel comfortable working with Ivan Mikhailovich on a human level. He looks at everything with wide open eyes because he is passionate about his work. Meeting a person with whom you are on the same wavelength in work is a great joy. We have a creative union based on trust.”
7. “State Border”: “Afghan Trap”, “Deadliest Catch”, 2014
In the continuation of the famous Belarusian TV series “State Border”, the actor played a cameo role. But the film is truly legendary, dating back to the 80s of the last century (!), so working in it can be considered a kind of “must-have” for the Belarusian actor. Moreover, the actor’s wife, the beautiful Veronika Plyashkevich, also starred in the film.
8. “Lieutenant Kachura’s Station”, 2015
The role in the series directed by Igor Chetverikov about the valiant district police officer is Maxim Romanko. The role was small, but the project provided useful experience working in an “ensemble”: the cast was very stellar.
9. “Flame under the Ashes”, “Undermining” (film version), 2022
In the heroic saga “Flame Under the Ashes” directed by Ivan Pavlov, Andrei Senkin played the role of Kuntsevich – an ambiguous, mysterious hero. Here’s a quote from an interview with an actor in one of the central newspapers: “When director Ivan Pavlov called me and asked me to record self-tests, he only briefly told me that it would be an interesting story about sappers and deminers in the post-war period. And I had to play the instructor. And when I received the script, the first question was: how to play this? Because everything there is so complicated, there are so many twists and turns in the plot!.. There, every scene is a turning point in the role… After this role, I got very burnt out because I was very deep into the process and was at work all the time. The role was difficult psychologically, so it took time to come to my senses.”
At the end of the filming process, director I. Pavlov said that he would personally award Andrei Senkin an Oscar for this role. And, God knows, the director is very close to the truth!..
10. “Time to Return”, 2024
The creative collaboration of actor Andrei Senkin and director Ivan Pavlov continues: in the new film “Time to Return.” Senkin played one of the central roles – partisan Ivan Raikov. The premiere will take place on the eve of a significant date – the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
11. “Idiot”, performance by M. Gorky National Theater Theater 2023
Prince Myshkin, whom Andrei Senkin played in the play “The Idiot”, is the actor’s second dream come true: since his youth he dreamed of playing the characters of F. M. Dostoevsky – Alyosha Karamazov from “The Brothers Karamazov” and Prince Myshkin. “The Brothers Karamazov” was staged by People’s Artist of Belarus Olga Klebanovich, and “The Idiot” was brought to life by the famous Serbian actress and director Ivana Zhigon. The play “The Idiot” was awarded the Special Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus A. G. Lukashenko “For Spiritual Revival”. Before this significant event, the play became the laureate of the VII National Theater Award in the category “Best Drama Theater Performance” and the winner of the Grand Prix of the XXI International Theater Forum “Golden Knight”.
